Description of Work:

This heritage listed building in Lang’s Corner, Wollongong, proved to be a fun challenge for the team at Wollongong City Excavation and Demolition whereby we required to carefully salvage parts from this building before any demolition and removal. Through the process of excavation and demolition asbestos was present therefore we were required to contain onsite all the contaminants before moving forward with our work. This job was conducted over the period of 45 days and was completed within the budget of $172,000.00.

  • Demolition and removal of the existing structure
  • Removal of asbestos 900m2
  • Asbestos roofing removed by cranes
  • Asbestos testing and containment onsite
  • Asbestos removal from site and disposal of under EPA guidelines
  • Salvage of heritage items from heritage building
  • Plan and action site remediation of all contaminants
  • Develop and implement workplace health and safety, and environmental management practices
