BMW Wollongong posed to be a difficult demolition job but nothing WCED couldn’t take on headfirst. The main hurdles to combat with BMW Wollongong was just the nature of the positioning of the building, within the CBD of town, alongside schools, restaurants, and bus zones, WCED had to ensure all safety measures were implemented to make sure there was no waste material falling out of the work zone into the pathway of pedestrians and traffic mere feet away. On top of this was the necessity to contract in a 350 Tonne Crane from Two Ways Cranes to help us complete the job. They were needed to remove the big concrete support walls which made the main frame of the structure. Oxy Cutting was used to break down the large steel frames that held the concrete walls meaning high levels of skill and professionalism were required to complete this job with danger being a massive factor for this job.
